1990s

Womens’ rowing flourished at SEHBC in the 1980s; the women’s first eight bumped up 21 places over the decade.

SEHBC cemented its position as a top college boat club; The first 8 reached 2nd on the river in 1979.

1970s

2010s

SEHBC proved itself as a powerhouse of both Men’s and Women’s rowing, with the men reaching 3rd in 1995 and the women reaching 4th in 1989.

After the COVID pandemic, SEHBC returned stronger than ever. W1 and W2 won multiple Torpids and Eights blades, with W1 returning to 2nd on the river in 2023.

SEHBC held its positions. 2019 saw the men’s first VIII winning division 1 blades, bumping up to 5th on the river.

Formed in 1861, SEHBC enjoyed success throughout the early 20th century.

The Golden era of the club; The men’s First VIII held headship for 5 years and dominated the overall standings for a decade.

The Women’s first VIII held headship from 2006 to 2009. Our Men’s first VIII held their established position on the river.
